DeVos Performance Hall recognizes that its goal is to provide a safe, enjoyable atmosphere. The use of installed automated security systems, appropriate security operating plans, trained guest services and security personnel will ensure the security and safety of all guests, performers, and employees at DeVos Performance Hall. In the case of an emergency, guests must comply with requests from venue staff regarding theater operations and emergency response procedures.

Entry Inspections

All Guests entering the theater during an event are subject to a metal-detector screening, visual inspection, and a bag inspection conducted by DeVos Performance Hall security personnel. The purpose of the inspection is to detect prohibited items.

Listening Devices

DeVos Performance Hall is equipped with an assisted listening device system. Receivers are available for most events and are provided free of charge with a valid form of identification from coat check.

The Tele-coil Hearing Loop system in place for the hearing impaired will allow hearing aids to serve as wireless loudspeakers, delivering clear, sharp, customized sound right inside the ear. An induction loop system transmits magnetic energy to telecoil-equipped hearing aids through a wire that surrounds the audience. Patrons simply flip a switch on their T-coil equipped hearing aid and the sound is transmitted directly into their ears.

DeVos Performance Hall management assumes no responsibility for items lost at events. All lost and found items are taken to the DeVos Place Security Office. After the conclusion of the event, if the lost item is not retrieved, guests may contact DeVos Place Security at (616) 742-6638 to inquire about the lost item.
